Take a “risk”, eat leftover food!

            Summary
Because of the tighter finances people are
trying to save money by making their food go further. An FSA survey of nearly 2,000 people across the UK suggested more than half were trying to make better use of leftover food and they were ignoring use-by dates, and kept leftovers in the fridge for long periods of time. The number of cases of food poisoning is highest in the summer as the warmer weather means germs can grow at a quicker rate and each year there are around 70,000 recorded cases of food poisoning in England and Wales. If you want to keep your food longer than the advice from Andrew Wilson of the British Dietetic Association would be “Always follow good food hygiene rules when preparing and storing any high risk foods such as meat, fish etc.”

Reaction
First impression I got from this article was “look out, leftovers are dangerous!” It seems almost like leftovers are suddenly the greatest threat for your health and the greatest evil in the world. I have been eating leftovers my entire life and I have never had food poisoning or what so ever. Of course, I agree that you mustn’t eat food that have been in the fridge for too long and you have to keep in mind that use-by dates are there not just for fun. So, leftover food is not dangerous but the way people are ignoring food hygiene rules is.

Prince William returns home after duty in Falklands

News UK

Summary
After being deployed to the Falkland Islands Prince William has returned home to Britain and his deployment, as an RAF helicopter search and rescue pilot, caused a diplomatic row with Argentina, which claims the islands, known there as the Malvinas. According to Clarence House, he had returned after an "entirely routine" tour and according to a spokesperson for St James's Palace, he will have a short period of leave like the rest of his crew, before returning to work at RAF Valley. Buenos Aires, however, which claims the Falklands are occupied Argentine territory, sees the prince's tour as a "provocation" but UK Foreign Secretary William Hague sees nothing provocative about "routine military movements".

Reaction
This is just one more example of what Prince is doing next to his obligations as a prince. I think it is very nice of him to be so much involved with the rest of the world and with the world problems. This article is also another example of typical power and possession conflict. Almost every country wants more possessions and there is always some country that says that some other country picked their land, and now that country wants its land back. If you read the news there’s always something going on between the countries and they’re always searching someone to blame for that and in this case it would be a “provocation-move” from Prince William.

“Titanic №2 turns around”

News UK

Summary
The Titanic memorial cruise has been forced to take a short detour after a guest was taken ill.
56-year-old Tim Rex, who is BBC cameraman, was airlifted off the MS Balmoral by rescue helicopter as a medical precaution. The ship had to head back towards the Irish coast to enable the rescue but it the people still expect The Balmoral to arrive at the wreck site in time for scheduled memorial services at the weekend. The cruise will last 12 nights and it will be travelling between Southampton and New York. Many passengers and crew are dressed in period costumes. The guests are able to eat meals from Titanic's original menu and they can attend lectures by historians and experts.

Reaction
The memorial cruise had to head back because of the ill passenger is something you don’t expect I guess. Fortunately, they did not have to cancel whole trip and the cruise could still make it on time. However, I’m curious how the ship will manage that. I think they would have to increase speed a lot. I think it was really thoughtful of the crew and whole idea of serving the same menu as Titanic had. That way the passengers can experience the trip a bit more precise and on the other hand just eat delicious food.

“Titanic №2”

News UK

Summary
Titanic memorial cruise is retracing the route of the ill-fated liner's maiden voyage, to mark 100 years since the disaster. The ship is tracing the route taken by the liner 100 years ago carrying 1,309 passengers - the same number as were on the Titanic. The relatives of some who died on the Titanic are also present on a voyage. The name of this ship is “The Balmoral” and it left England's south coast shortly after 14:45 GMT. There will be a service will be held for the passengers at 02:20 GMT next Sunday to mark the moment of the sinking.

Reaction
I think the idea of this memorial cruise is a bit weird because I cannot understand why somebody would take a risk to follow the same route as Titanic. Even if there was no risk at all I would not be willing to be present there and especially when some of your relatives died in that disaster. Firstly, it would probably be too painful to remember everything and secondly, I would probably just be scared. I think it is a nice gesture in some way but in my opinion, it remains weird.

Prime Minister forgot eight-year-old daughter in the pub

News UK Politics

Summary
David Cameron, his wife Samantha, and their three children, were out for a lunch on Sunday, together with two other families at the Plough Inn in Cadsden, Buckinghamshire. As the group arranged lifts in preparation to leave, Nancy wandered off to the toilet without telling anyone. The Prime Minister and his wife Samantha drove back to Prime Minister’s official country residence Chequers in separate cars. They realized that their daughter Nancy was missing only after they arrived home. They were distraught realising it. Mr Cameron immediately drove back and found Nancy. She was away from her parents for around 15 minutes.

Reaction
In my opinion, it is unthinkable to forget your own daughter in a pub! Even if you are in a big amount of people and children, your own children suppose to be most important. They could have done a headcount before leaving just to be sure everybody is present but it is obvious that no one have thought of that. They were too busy with their own business. I think it is really irresponsible of them as parents. Fortunately, the pub was nearby home and Nancy has been away from her parents for only around 15 minutes. However, if I were her, I would be shocked to realized that I have been left alone somewhere and that my parents just forgot about me.
